Southampton's Yellow Card Scheme
The Yellow Card Southampton scheme is our latest initiative and reminds visitors to the city centre about acceptable standards of behaviour, responsible drinking and is helping to reduce incidents of low level crime and disorder. The scheme is loosely based on football rules: One yellow card and you are on a warning and your details will be taken and put onto a secure intranet/website for twelve months. Two yellow cards and you are banned, your details and photo are shared with licensed premises via the intranet and you are excluded from all participating venues in the city for an entire year. Since its launch in June 2010 to date the scheme has helped reduce alcohol-related disorder in the city centre by 37 per cent compared to the same period last year.
